The 2018 War Eagles will be the most experienced team that has been fielded in Wagener in a while. We have been young for the past three years, but we have been successful. We have grown up on the fly but this year will be the first time we aren’t “young”. We have high expectations this season that include competing for a Region Championship and winning in the post season.

We’ve been watching this War Eagle team mature since starting an almost entire freshman roster two seasons ago. This past season was an outstanding year for them as they were potent on offense and gave up just 12 points per game. They have a very good chance at challenging this year for the top spot in region.

My take: The War Eagles are impressive and playing young for the past two seasons is paying off. I think they are a 2nd place finisher but will push hard for the top.
