AUDIBLE FROM THE COACH: Will be competitive in 2018 with the teams on our schedule. If we can improve on defense, will have a successful season.
SEASON OUTLOOK – MY TAKE
This Hurricane team has their work cut out for them in 2018. A tough region with BHP returning talent on both sides and Palmetto having a good stock of returners as well. . The Hurricanes return one of the region’s top players in quarterback Tyrell Jackson (6-2, 190) and he has some weapons around him. But offense hasn’t been the problem. Last season, the Hurricanes defense gave up 337 points with a minus 2.28 points swing avarage per game. That has to improve.
I believe this team has the tools to compete for the region top spot but with Palmetto’s offense being potent and BHP returning strong talent on both sides it will be a challenge. Worst case scenerio is a third place finish. Best case? They play defense and winthe thing. I believe they are going to finish in the second spot.
